Missing 12 Year Old: It Was Step Mother

"A 12-year-old Detroit boy who was missing for more than a week before he was discovered in his

own basement told investigators his stepmother sent him there, according to a court record obtained

Friday by a newspaper.
...
According to the Free Press, the document says Charlie Bothuell V was placed in the basement

behind boxes and totes by his stepmother, Monique Dillard-Bothuell, and told "not to come out, no

matter what he hears."

Although Dillard-Bothuell knew her stepson was in the basement, she did not bring him food,

according to the petition, which also says: "Charlie reports sneaking upstairs to get food when

everyone left the home."

Isn't repetition the definition of insanity?
That poor little boy :( look at his smile even through all he was put through, being disciplined with a PVC pipe (when I read that my jaw dropped) but there that sweet little boy is in his Sunday best ... proving that he's a survivor. I hope his future is as bright as his smile.

Police warrants show dad researched child deaths inside hot cars
11Alive Staff, WXIA 8:49 a.m. EDT June 28, 2014

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- Cobb police released the search warrants for Justin Ross Harris Saturday morning.

Last Thursday, Ross pleaded not guilty to leaving his 22-month-old son in a hot car for 7 hours early in the week.

The newly released search warrants show police searched Ross' home, computer, cell phone and car.

According to the official warrants:

On 06/18/14 at 1624 hrs Pct 3 officers responded to 2955 Akers Mill Rd, Atlanta GA regarding a person down call. When the officers arrived on scene they discovered that Cooper Harris 08-02-12 was deceased. The CAP unit was contacted and responded to the scene regarding a homicide investigation. Justin Harris, the deceased subject's father was witnessed pulling into the parking lot of Uncle Maddio's Pizza, 2955 Akers Mill Rd in a 2011 Hyundai Tucson, GA tag.... The vehicle came to a sudden stop. Justin quickly exited the vehicle, opened the driver side passenger door and pulled his child, Cooper Harris out of the vehicle. Justin was witnessed yelling "Oh my god what have I done". He then began doing CPR on the child. When someone came to assist Justin he stopped providing medical attention to the child and started making calls on his cell phone. EMS responded to the scene. It was obvious that the child was deceased. Justin stated that he went to work that morning and forgot to drop the child off at day care. Justin left his residence, took the child to Chic-fil-A in Vinings and then went to work. The child was left in the vehicle since approximately 0930 hrs this morning until he was discovered by Justin at around 1620 hrs when he was driving to meet up with some friends. The temperature was in the 90's for most of the day. During an interview with Justin, He stated that he recently researched, through the internet, child deaths inside vehicles and what temperature it needs to be for Bthat to occur. Justin stated that he was fearful that this could happen.
The warrant to search Ross' home was for "evidence to include papers, writings, documents, photographs, evidence of child neglect, child abuse and photograph the residence."

The warrant to search Ross' home computer was for "evidence to include a laptop computer, computer tower, Google chrome cast internet searcher and other electronic devises."

The warrant to search Ross' car was for "trace evidence including but not limited to latent impressions, hairs, fibers, fingerprints, blood, or DNA, a child car seat, cell phones, photograph the vehicle, take measurements of the vehicle, computers, electronic communication devices, any electronic data storage devices located inside the vehicle, any paperwork and or writings related to the crime of Homicide and Cruelty to Children"

The warrant for the cell phone stated the phone "will be physically examined, documented, the storage devices forensically imaged or copied (if necessary), and later examined for evidence of these crimes."

Repitition expecting a different result is insanity . I watched dad on Nancy Grace. Did you guys notice the shifty eyes? Yes, I agree, he knew

How convenient that he had been researching child deaths in hot cars fearful it might happen.

It would be like a parent researching accidental drowning in the bath, not something a parent expects nor would research for.

He sounds like he knew what would be found on his computer and thus came up with an explanation for why it was found, regardless of how unbelievable.

How strangely cinveneient that he was researching child deaths in a hot car, presumably to prevent it happening and lo and behold , this is just how his son dies, despite all his research!

I don't buy it.

First we have him claiming he forgot his son was in his car 3 mins after he had just had breakfast with him and strapping him into his car seat.

Second we have him parking not in his usual spot but a quiet spot in the parking lot ( change of behavior)

Third we have him returning to the car at lunchtime and not noticing a highly distressed child or smelling him ( sweat, soiled diaper etc)

Fourth we have him driving straight out from work not going as expected to the creche to collect his son (change in expected behavior)

Fifth we have him not noticing or smelling a dead child in his car, the car would have been stinking.

Sixth we have him pulling into a parking lot and claiming the child was choking when it was clear to even the simplest of witnesses that the child was long dead, even to them mentioning rigor mortis ( the legs sticking up as if he was sitting on his back)

Each on its own may have been possibly believab;e, as a whole, no chance.

This then leads me to wonder about the family dynamics, was the child disabled or sick in any way?
Were there martial problems?
Were there other issues such as finacial or infidelity?
Were there doubts about parentage?
Was he a step child?

Was this a case of revenge since it seems premeditation is obvious both in regard to the research and his behavior?

Was money/sympathy a reason?

Did the mom know of his plan or was she innocent in all this?

I'm still wondering if the step mother was trying to protect Charlie. I guess she probably would have given him food and called the police if that was the case. I'm always hoping for the best in these cases involving kids.

This is the first time I have read Justin was driving to meet up with friends after work instead of driving home. Had he made plans to take his son to meet with the friends?

That's a great question Ima!

He researched, because he was afraid "this" could happen. He was afraid he'd "forget" his son for 7 hours? How bizarre and sad.

He researched, kind of like how Justin DiPieteo thought Ayla would be "taken".

I wonder if Harris accidentally left him in the car before, thus triggering the search. Maybe he dodged this bullet before.

Sorry Ross not Harris

Good analogy...

@ Cmerkins- as I recall, susan smith's husband stood by her side, at first, as well did the dad in Texas, whose wife drowned their 5 boys.. I think at first all spouses/loves will stand-by-their man or woman as is these cases normally...You will also see various, fans, who stand by the side of someone they "know"...aka... Dunn case or Moorer...even OJ, who had blood dna had 12 who closed their eyes...and Casey Anthony,...

I agree with you, if my babies died because of XYZ reason, I do not think I would ever forgive or make excuses.

@Elf...quote "Isn't repetition the definition of insanity? "

I think the real definition is repeating the same thing over-and over AND expecting a different result...

Who ever PH was talking about must be insane and thinking if I post my spam/troll items enough, he will stop deleting them?? :)

Cmerkins said...I just read that the mom of the little boy stated that "Ross was and is a wonderful father."

He isn't a father anymore and he certainly wasn't a wonderful one when he was...

Yea I know the Facebook meme sella. I prefer to put my own spin on things though. But thanks for trying to correct me.

@Elf- LOL, I wasn't trying to correct you, I found your post humorous and wanted to smile a little more, by adding onto it.

Read the news update. The mom was in on it. Police found she'd also been researching how long it takes for a child to die in a hot car. They both are monsters.
